Sinomach, a Guangdong-based tech company, completed the production and delivery of 100 automatic medical mask manufacturing units on the afternoon of March 8th. The company which specializes in robotics and smart equipment manufacturing took one month to finish R&D and production, enabling its factory to produce these machines.

The project is being led by Sinomach and Guangzhou Robot Industry Alliance and comprises several member enterprises of the Alliance and their supply chains.

According to a staff member from Sinomach, the company received the request to produce the machinery at the beginning of February, and it faced numerous difficulties at that time. “We had no experience in producing such machines. It was difficult to purchase components and hire technical staff due to both the New Year’s holiday and epidemic. We also faced huge pressure brought by the epidemic control measures.”

During the last month, the company mobilized more than 160 of its staff and gained support from over 20 companies and institutions . A team of more than 200 people transformed a 1000-sqm factory, eventually completing the task.

Ji Xuecheng, Chairman of Sinomach, said the demand for face masks is booming with people returning to work nationwide and with the virus spreading at the global level. “Sinomach will continue to produce more high-quality mask-making machines in the future.

In addition to medical masks, Sinomach has finished the design of an N95 mask-making machine. The company’s next move will be to start the R&D on further variants of mask-making machines.
