Since the outbreak of the coronavirus in China, Guangdong’s international friends from over 30 organizations across the world have sent their best wishes, encouragement and support to Wuhan, Guangdong

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus in China, Guangdong’s international friends from over 30 organizations across the world have sent their best wishes, encouragement and support to Wuhan, Guangdong and China via the Guangdong People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (GDPAFFC).

Together with the trainees of the 2019 Guangdong-Guadalcanal Agricultural Training Program, Iazarus Alfred Rina, vice governor of Guadalcanal Province from the Solomon Islands, conveyed a message of solidarity and moral support to Wuhan, Guangdong and China.

Dr. Hiria Ottino, President of the Pacific China Friendship Association, sent a video message to both Wuhan and China, “Your fight and sacrifice is not just for yourselves but for humankind. The people of the Pacific Islands stand with you. We believe you can win this fight.”

Students and teachers from the Hungarian-Chinese Bilingual School, the Confucius Institutes at both the Kathmandu University and the University of Latvia, the Persian Literature and Foreign Languages School at Allameh Tabataba'i University, and Malaysia’s Kian Kok Middle School sent their best wishes to both Wuhan and China, hoping China will win the fight against the coronavirus soon.

The Japan-China Friendship Association in Hokkaido sent a letter to the GDPAFFC to show their concern over the epidemic in China and donated both medical supplies and money to the epidemic-stricken regions.

Renowned Russian painter Anna Donchenke, a member from the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society, created a calligraphic work to express her best wishes to China.

Chinese societies, chambers and foundations in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago donated 580,000 RMB worth of masks and protective suits to the Nanfang Hospital of Southern Medical University via the GDPAFFC.

Members of the Arniko Society in Nepal have purchased 3,500 masks and sent them to Guangdong via Nepalese students in China.

The Australia China Friendship Society NT Branch donated 29,000 RMB worth of 1,250 KF94 kids face masks to Guangdong and posted a video message on Facebook rooting for China.

The Vanuatu China Friendship Association, the China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification in Vanuatu, the SABAH Ma-Zhong Friendship Association and the state government of Sabah in Malaysia raised donations and filmed videos to express their support for China.

Jinith De Silva, Acting President of the Sri Lanka-China Society (SLCS), published an article on local newspaper Daily Mirror to urge Sri Lankans not to mistreat Chinese nationals and to convey his support for China.

Indrananda Abeysekera, President of Sri Lanka-China Social and Cultural Cooperation Association, led a delegation to visit the local Chinese nationals and showed their support for China via a blessing ceremony before the Lantern Festival (February 8th).
