Passengers are required compulsory body temperature checks at metro stations starting from January 22nd. Guangzhou Metro announced four preventive measures on January 21st against the pneumonia outbreak that originated in Wuhan:

1. Keep the stations and carriages ventilated

2. Enhance cleaning and disinfection

3. Carry out body temperature checks on passengers at every metro station (Guangzhou-Foshan Line included) starting from January 22nd. Provide assistant and guidance to designated hospitals if identify suspected patients with fever and acute respiratory illness, or pneumonia.

4. Enforce preventive measures pushed forward by related government departments.
