Guangdong is expected to handle about 202 million trips during the 40-day Spring Festival Travel Rush which will start from January 10th. The total passenger turnover will almost be the same as last year, said Yang Junbo, deputy director-general of the Department of Transportation of Guangdong on a news conference on Friday.
In detail, transport terminals for road, ship, rail and air travel are expected to handle 143 million trips, down 3%; 5.75 million trips, down 2.5%; 44 million trips, up 12.8% and 9.6 million trips, up 8%, respectively.
It is estimated that the province will see 5.9 million trips at most during the pre-festival travel peak.
