The Consulate General of Israel in Guangzhou held event named “Environmental Friendly Consulate”, for proposing environmental protection on December 16th.
In order to have a contribution to Guangzhou’s waste separation, Mr. Peleg Lewi, the Consul General of Israel, introduced Israel’s experience on environmental protection and waste classification for visitors during the event, and encouraged the employees of the consulate to develop the habit of recycling in their work and daily life.

“Everyone’s actions and attitudes could have an influence on the world. We encourage everybody to contribute to environment protection.” Said Mr. Eli Lipshitz, Deputy Consul General of Israel, who distributed permanent cups for employees during the event.
Furthermore, to promote the initiative of environmental protection in a wider range in society, the event gathered dozens of participants, including representatives from other countries’ consulates, the Guangzhou Foreign Affairs Office, Provincial Environmental Protection Department, Tianhe District Government, environmental protection companies and all employees of the consulate.
In addition, Guangzhou is striving for Building a National Model City for Waste Separation. It has begun to execute garbage classification regulations since July 1st, 2018, even earlier than Shanghai. Nowadays, new separation trash bins and administration measures are spread in the whole city.
