A total of 14 expat performers from the US, Russia, Ukraine, Canada, Germany and Georgia are touring across Guangdong and staging performances for local people between November 13th and 24th.

The expats will take part in 19 shows in villages and towns across Qingyuan, Meizhou and Chaoshan region. One of the shows will be held for the aged in a charity house free of charge.

They will sing world-renowned classics such as the former Soviet Union folk song Katusha and perform exotic dances including Cowboy and Hawaiian dances. Canadian performers will stage a stilt-walking performance, part of an award-winning program from the Montréal Cirque Festival.

The expats’ tour forms part of an annual cultural project organized by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism for grassroots community. Every year, the department holds 100 exhibitions, 100 lectures and 100 shows to enrich the cultural life of the masses.
