The Chimelong Safari Park in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, welcomed its newest baby panda on September 30th.
The baby panda was named Guoqing, meaning celebrating the National Day, since it was born just on the eve of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the PRC.
It was the fourth offspring of giant panda Meiqing after her being pregnant for about 5 months. Meiqing delivered her first baby panda “Longlong”, which is also the first baby panda born in South China, on July 31st of 2013, and twin pandas “Qinqin” and “Aiai” on October 9th of 2016.
