With an emphasis on developing the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao Innovation Corridor, Guangdong is strengthening its foundations in research and is striving to develop an international scientific and technological innovation center with global influence.

In regards to South Korea, the country boasts advanced innovation resources and has ranked first in the world on the Bloomberg Innovation Index for six consecutive years.

The industrial cooperation between Guangdong and South Korea is booming, with well-known Korean companies such as Samsung, LG and Posco investing in Guangdong to promote the development of the province's advanced manufacturing.

According to Kim Jinho, Visiting scholar at Shenzhen University and Professor at Dankook University, the Greater Bay Area has great development potential and many strengths such as a convenient transportation network. He thought South Korea and Guangdong can learn from each other's development experiences.

Wangrui, Deputy director of the Asian Institute, Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, MOFCOM has a similar opinion: to construct a world-class Bay Area needs more international cooperation, and South Korea is China's third largest trading partner. She suggested the two sides can set up more R & D institutions and innovation platforms in the region.

Through the opportunities presented by the construction of the Greater Bay Area, experts believe that the two sides still have a lot of room for cooperation in innovation, industry, trade and cultural exchange.
