Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao officials on August 12, agreed to provide three platforms to develop the food industry within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). According to the agreement, catering talent may receive mutual recognition of professional qualifications in the GBA.
The three platforms include a national nutrition program, a talent exchange program and a global communications program to promote the Southern China and Chaozhou food cultures. These platforms are expected to establish the health and food culture industries of the GBA and will be introduced through the Belt and Road initiative.
The Chao'an district of Chaozhou will implement the "three platforms" plan by establishing global talent training and testing centers for Chaozhou cuisine development. The Guangdong Food Industry Association, Hong Kong Foodstuffs Association and Macau Union Suppliers Association also agreed to take turns hosting forums in order to release new achievements of GBA food industry.
