The Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province introduced four cultural heritage travel routes in the Greater Bay Area on July 25, including the Sun Yat-sen cultural heritage route, Maritime Silk Road route, overseas Chinese cultural heritage route and the ancient courier route tour, to be completed by the end of 2019.
These routes will cover the distinctive tourism resources of GBA, such as local history and culture, Maritime Silk Road culture, overseas Chinese culture and celebrity culture, all demonstrating individual city styles and characteristics.
By the end of 2021, more key routes will be constructed, featuring the culture of modern trading ports, the cultural heritage of the eastward spreading of modern western learning, the coastal defense historical relics, intangible cultural heritages, and historical and cultural neighborhoods.
