The 2019 Vocational Training Camp for youth in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) started on July 15. Sponsored by the Guangdong Provincial Office of Human Resources and Social Security, the nearly one-month training camp will organize the GBA youth to visit enterprises, human resources markets and business incubators in GBA cities such as Guangzhou, Zhuhai and Jiangmen.
The camp offers more than 90 positions in 35 enterprises for interns and provides living allowances during their internship, according to He Quansui, Vice President of Guangzhou Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Association. A representative from Clifford Group said that about half of their interns come from Hong Kong and that Clifford will provide training and positions including nurses, customer services and assistant lawyers for them.
According to the latest policies in Guangdong, employment permits for residents from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao have been canceled and are entitled to employment and entrepreneurship support. Hong Kong and Macao entrepreneurs in Guangdong enjoy the same treatment as local people, including policy subsidies such as training and rent subsidies, opportunities for innovation competitions and access to financing platforms.
Furthermore, equal treatment will also be implemented in life services, which enables participants to purchase houses, buy medical insurance and prepare for public schools for children with permits.
