A Guangzhou delegation led by the city’s mayor Wen Guohui attended the 2019 Summer Davos forum in Dalian between July 1st and 3rd, with the aim to promote Guangzhou’s business environment and opportunities for development. A corresponding activity ‘Guangzhou Night’ was held on the 2nd, showcasing Cantonese culture, cuisine and technology innovation.

During the forum, Wen Guohui met with renowned enterprise representatives from both China and other countries, including Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum Professor Klaus Schwab, Yossi Vardi who is known as the godfather of Israel's hi-tech industry, Fukuoka Mayor Soichiro Takashima, CEO of Danfoss Jorgen Clausen and Chairman of First Eastern Investment Group Victor Chu.

Professor Klaus Schwab said, Guangzhou’s development achievements are admired by a lot of cities around the world, and the city Guangzhou, reflecting the country’s vitality, is the best place for the fourth industrial revolution.

The 2019 Summer Davos forum is being held from July 1-3 in northeast China's coastal city of Dalian, with globalization in the spotlight. Also known as the 13th Annual Meeting of the New Champions, this year's forum features the theme "Leadership 4.0: Succeeding in a New Era of Globalization." More than 1,900 politicians, business people, scholars and media representatives from over 100 countries attend the forum.

Established by the World Economic Forum in 2007, the Summer Davos Forum is held annually in China, alternating between the two port cities of Tianjin and Dalian.
