The first ever Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Culture and Arts Festival will get underway at Guangzhou Opera House on the evening of June 24th, featuring a performance of the event’s theme song. The song has been composed by a Hong Kong musician and will be sung by famous singers from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

On the same night, there will also be an accompanying themed cruise on the Pearl River through downtown Guangzhou, with a festival themed cruise and another 11 boats representing the nine Guangdong cities and two Special Administrative Regions of the Greater Bay Area.
The festival will include a tour of art exhibitions, a theatre festival, a dance season, a literature week, a poetry event, an industrial art fair, a movie week, a drama festival, and a talent exchange event, with the number of activities totalling over 100.

Guangzhou, the main venue and organizer of this year’s event, will hold an art festival, a civic culture festival and a music season.
Hong Kong is going to present a theatre festival, a Cantonese music and opera concert, and a folk music concert, mixing both traditional and modern cultures.
Macao will launch an international theatre festival to promote the cultural exchange between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.
Other satellite venues in Guangdong will also host special cultural and art events with a distinct local flavour.
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Culture and Arts Festival is co-hosted by the People's Government of Guangdong Province, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Hong Kong SAR Government, and Macao SAR Government. Starting from this year, it will be held annually and hosted by one the Special Administrative Region or city of the Greater Bay Area.
