The Guangdong Meteorological Bureau is saying a weak cold front will make a slight dent in the recent heatwave as of today (May 20th) as it sweeps across the province, bringing rainfall and a 3-5℃ temperature drop to the province.

This morning, Guangzhou Meteorological Bureau issued a yellow alert for rainstorm and thundery showers. Torrential rain hit Conghua and Huadu, and temperatures have dropped by 3℃-5℃ in the city.
It is forecast that the next two days (May 21st - 22nd) will be cloudy with short-term heavy rainfall and thunder storms.

There is a risk of flooding in low lying areas and landslides and mud flows in mountainous areas.
China has a four-tier color-coded weather warning system, with red the most severe, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
