China, Belgium to further cooperation in cleantech

A roadshow entitled ‘I²PCC-Clean Tech China’ was held in Guangzhou on February 25th, giving Belgian cleantech companies the chance to get acquainted with potential partners in Chinese market.

A roadshow entitled ‘I²PCC-Clean Tech China’ was held in Guangzhou on February 25th, giving Belgian cleantech companies the chance to get acquainted with potential partners in Chinese market.

The event also aims to entice more Chinese professionals to visit Belgium and learn about its cleantech projects, so as to promote bilateral cooperation between China and Belgium.

About 50 cleantech professionals attended the event, along with representatives from Guangdong’s Foreign Affairs Office, the Consulate General of Belgium in Guangzhou, and Guangdong’s provincial Departments of both Science and Technology, and Ecology and Environment.

Frans Snijkers, Director of Cleantech Flanders and Pierre Fache, Smart Hub Manager for Cleantech in Flemish Brabant demonstrated the tech and the company’s development direction to roadshow attendees.

I²PCC, the Interprovincial Internationalization Project China Cleantech, is a joint project of the Belgian provinces of Antwerp, Limburg, East Flanders and Flemish Brabant. The Organizer is I²PCC Project team and the co-organizer is Guangdong Foreign Affair Office. The project will prioritize the provinces’ sister regions in China for cooperation. These regions include the provinces Guangdong, Hebei and Shaanxi, as well as Chongqing and Chengdu.

The roadshow is scheduled to be held in Chongqing on February 27th, Chengdu on February 28th and Shijiazhuang on March 4th.

Since the sister province relationship between Guangdong and Limburg was established in 2015, the two provinces have been looking to strengthen exchange and cooperation in the fields of economy, education, culture and publicity, and have arranged events such as media visits, photo exhibitions and concerts. In 2016, Guangdong and Limburg both officially launched webpages tailored to enhance Guangdong people’s knowledge about Limburg and vice versa.
