On December 14th, the 4th Congress of the Council for the Promotion of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation was convened in Guangzhou.
Li Xi, secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, Ma Xingrui, Governor of Guangdong, and Zhu Xiaodan, director of the Committee for Liaison with Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese of the CPPCC met with representatives from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao before the congress.
On behalf of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and Guangdong Government, Li extended the gratitude to representatives for their long-term concern on Guangdong’s development and unremitting efforts to boost cooperations between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
Li delivered his expectation that the council should continuously implement “One Country, Two System” policy, play an active role in construction of the Greater Bay Area as a platform targeting to boost people-to-people exchange among three places, and make contributions to deepen cooperation between three places.
Vice Governor Ouyang Weimin addressed on the congress. He called on the council to unite all walks of life in three places, and focus on developing the Greater Bay Area.
The new leaders of the council was elected on the congress.
