Guangzhou is ramping up efforts to establish a "306090" transportation circle in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area(GBA) — 30 minutes from Guangzhou to downtown areas of Foshan, Dongguan and Shenzhen cities, 60 minutes to major cities in the GBA, and 90 minutes to other cities within Guangdong province.
Under the construction scheme, more metro and rail lines will be constructed to expand the city's transportation network.
Guangzhou - Foshan
Guangzhou Metro Lines 25 and 28 are planned to connect downtown Foshan, according to Jiang Li, deputy director general of Guangzhou's Planning and Natural Resources Bureau.
Previous official sources revealed that Line 25 may run through Huangpu Lingang Economic Development Zone (southern area) (黄埔临港经济区（南片）) and interexchange with the east extension of Line 5 at Huangpu Passenger Port station (under construction).
Guangzhou - Shenzhen
The Guangzhou-Shenzhen Second High-speed Railway (广深第二高铁) will be planned to slash the travel time between Shenzhen's Bao'an Airport and Guangzhou's Baiyun Airport to only 20 minutes.
Further, Metro Line 22 under construction will stretch south to Shenzhen and become the first intercity metro route bridging the two cities, Jiang confirmed at a press conference this morning. Lianhuashan (Lotus Mountain) Corridor (莲花山通道) and Shiziyang Corridor (狮子洋通道) crossing the Pearl River estuary will also be advanced to build a 30-minute traffic circle between Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
60 minutes to other cities in the GBA
More high-speed railways and underground routes also are under planning to further facilitate travels between major cities within the GBA, including the Guangzhou-Zhongshan-Zhuhai-Macao High-speed Rail (广中珠澳高铁), Guangzhou South Railway Station - Guangzhou Railway Station line of the Guangzhou-Hong Kong High-speed Railway (广深港高铁广州南站至广州站联络线), Guangzhou-Foshan-Jiangmen-Zhuhai Intercity line (广佛江珠城际), and the south extension of Metro Line 18 expected to bridge Guangzhou, Zhongshan and Zhuhai.
Guangzhou-Shanwei High speed Railway (广汕高铁), Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High speed Rail (广湛高铁) and Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway (京广高铁) will cut through Shantou, Zhanjiang and Qingyuan cities, making it possible to travel to these cities from Guangzhou in around 90 minutes.

Guangzhou will also try to make neighboring capital cities reachable within 3 hours by high-speed train and major city clusters within 5-8 hours. Traffic arteries under planning include:
Longchuan (Heyuan)-Longyan(Fujian) High-speed Railway(广河高铁龙川至龙岩连接线);
Hangzhou —Guangzhou Express Railway Corridor(杭广高铁);
Guangzhou-Shanwei High-speed Railway(广汕高铁);
the Coastal Railway (沿海高铁大通道);
and the connection line of Guiyang-Guangzhou High-speed Railway(Guangning—Guangzhou North Railway Station)(贵广铁路广宁至广州北站联络线).
With these lines, it's expected that the Yangtze River Delta can be reached by train within 3 hours and inland cities of western China within 5 hours.
