On the morning of November 17th, public security organs across the country held joint exercises to destroy illegal firearms and explosives. One was held at the Shaoguan Steel Plant located in Shaoguan, Guangdong.

Through local searches, border patrol and screening in key areas, police across Guangdong have taken over 6 thousand illegal weapons, over 100 thousand rounds of ammunition, over 10 thousand replica guns, plus over 8 thousand crossbows and knives, as well as more than 8 thousand kilos of explosives, and 11 tons of inflammables & explosives since the start of this year.

Since the beginning of 2020, police across Guangdong have filed and investigated over 300 criminal cases involving firearms and explosions, they have arrested 567 suspects, destroyed 6 criminal gangs, confiscated 259 guns and 251 replica guns. 5 enterprises were investigated for illegal replica guns manufacturing and trafficking, and 22 persons involved were punished with over 7 thousand replica guns seized in the operation.
