After shutting down for months due to the COVID-19 epidemic, Dongguan entertainment venues and theatres are reopening, albeit under strict safety measures.
Dongguan demands every town and district strictly abide by the prevention and control guidelines of the municipal government. People must wear facemasks in enclosed public places and on public transport with social-distancing rules to be respected at all times.
Tourist attractions, sports venues, libraries, museums, art galleries and other indoor venues can admit consumers and visitors by reservation. This abides by the same practice as in theatres, bars, karaoke lounges, internet cafes, indoor gyms and other part-closed or closed entertainment places. In addition, they are also required to cap visitor numbers, impose scheduling to alleviate rush hours and implement epidemic prevention measures. Attendance at theatre-like venues should not exceed 30% of the original capacity, while internet cafes and other entertainment venues should be limited to a maximum 50% of their ratified numbers.
According to guidelines, entertainment sites shall post prevention and control management requirements in plain sight for the public both in Chinese and in English. Personnel management is to be strengthened with both staff and visitors required to wear face masks, have their temperatures taken, and ensure health codes are prominently displayed at entrances.
Dongguan has also turned on the green light for group tours within the province. Necessary conferences and exhibition activities are also allowed to be held. However, there must be strict supervision of large and medium-sized commercial entertainment activities.
