Zhanjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone (ZETDZ) in Guangdong province carried out the opening ceremony for its online job skills training for employees on April 3, with 30 people in charge of enterprises taking part.

The online job training is one of ZETDZ's efforts to fully implement the work requirements of the provincial and municipal human resources and social security departments on supporting enterprises and stabilizing economic growth during the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic. It can reduce the gathering of people, as well as ensure the normal development of job skills training for employees.

In addition to the public learning platforms, such as the Online Learning Platform for Industrial and Information Technology Talents and the Xuexi Qiangguo (literally "studying strengthens the nation") app, the internal platforms of enterprises can also be used for the online training.

A subsidy of 30 yuan ($4.23) per person per class hour (no less than 45 minutes) will be granted by ZETDZ's human resources and social security bureau to enterprises that organize online job skills training according to the actual number of participants in the training. The total subsidy of every person shall not exceed 1,000 yuan per year.

By April 2, there were 24 enterprises in ZETDZ that have registered for online job skills training, involving a total of 8,827 employees.

The human resources and social security bureau of ZETDZ will do a better job to assist enterprises in the registration of online job skills training and the declaration of subsidies to improve the quality and skills of employees, as well as help boost the economic growth of ZETDZ, said the person in charge of the bureau.
