Businesses and production are gradually resuming across China, including foreign-operated enterprises. Many have expressed their confidence in China's economic resilience. CGTN's He Weiwei has more from the southern province of Guangdong.

Foshan, a city renowned for manufacturing, holds the most advanced production lines of joint-venture automaker, FAW-Volkswagen. The factory has re-started operations, and produces nearly 50 cars per hour on average.

HOLGER NESTLER General Manager, Foshan Branch of FAW-Volkswagen Automotive "We can feel the temporary impacts on the economy at the moment, but in the long run, I am very confident in China's economic recovery. That's because the Chinese government has taken many preferential policies in all aspects. And I also believe in the resilience of the Chinese market and its economy, it will definitely recover. As an enterprise, we will work together with China to overcome difficulties."

As the provincial capital, Guangzhou is home to 20 thousand foreign invested companies. They've contributed to over half of the city's industrial output. Measures have been taken to help these businesses get back to work.

WU SHANGWEI Deputy Director-General, Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau "We've helped foreign enterprises in staff accommodation, logistics and supply chain matters. Meanwhile we've facilitated customs clearance for their personnel and equipment."

This has helped build up confidence.

JUERGEN SCHOBER General Manager, Export Dept. of Siemens Transformer, Guangzhou "It's a good environment for the industry here. I think we're well taken care of, and with the support we received from all sides, we'll resume quickly and we appreciate that."

MITSUDA MITSURU General Manager, Electric Glass, Guangzhou "I was a little worried when the coronavirus first broke out. But I think China is doing a good job. The economy might be affected by the epidemic, and I am still concerned, but I think we can survive this if we work together."

According to a recent survey released by the American Chamber of Commerce in South China, over 75% of roughly 400 polled companies in the region, say they will not change their re-investment plans in China this year, regardless of the possible revenue losses due to the epidemic. HWW, CGTN, GZ.
