The 4th press conference on Guangdong’s fight against the novel coronavirus-infected pneumonia (2019-nCoV) was held in Guangzhou today.
Guangdong has confirmed 31 new cases as of 12 am, January 29th, pushing the total number of infected patients to 272.
Maoming and Jiangmen report their first cases respectively.
Chaozhou and Yunfu had so far 0 case.
A Pakistan student in Guangzhou and two Australians were infected with the novel coronavirus. The Health Commission of Guangdong confirmed that all of the 3 cases studied in or had visited Wuhan before they came to Guangdong.
Up to now, body temperature check has been carried out at airports, highway entries to Guangdong, national and provincial road entries to Guangdong, and 147 railway stations in the province. People with fevers will be quarantined and transferred for medical treatment.
Coach terminal, port, bus, metro, taxi and online-hailed car shall be disinfected and ventilated once per shift, according to the Department of Transportation of Guangdong Province.
China Railway Guangzhou Group announced that in order to reduce the the flow of people, they have halted or adjusted schedules of 147 trains, including 30 travelling to or from Wuhan, since the city locked down on Jan.23rd. At the same time, the group applied free refund policies to passengers. As a result, the railway passenger flow decreased dramatically. Yesterday, the group sent 535,000 passengers, a year-on-year decrease of 1.171 million or 68.6%.
Passengers who bought tickets, discount tickets included, before January 28 and the date of their flights are on and from January 29, can contact airlines or ticket agents to ask for refund. All the refund are free of charge. Group passengers can also enjoy the service above, according to CAAC Central and Southern Regional Administration.
