Lizhi, formerly known as Lychee FM, a popular radio station app, recently announced a strategic cooperation with popular online game “One Love Forever,” allowing users to explore diverse ways of entertainment by combining its audience with an online mobile game, marking the company’s debut into online gaming.

According to the new business model, Lizhi will launch the game “One Love Forever” through its app and use algorithms to recommend different ways to explore the game. The game “One Love Forever” takes place in an imperial harem during the Qing Dynasty. Lizhi will also use various ways to help its users to explore the larger online gaming world. Users can take part in the game via storyline dubbing.

Founded in 2013, Lizhi, China’s largest online UCG audio community integrates audio recording, editing storage and broadcasting through cutting-edge recording technologies. Using a mobile phone, users can record, edit, upload and live broadcast their episodes worldwide.

Lizhi’s cooperation with One Love Forever opens the company to a wider audience as well as a wider range of sound entertainment for its users. The business cooperation also marks a new audio platform and business model for Lizhi through the UGC’s “voice broadcast + content paid” option.

Public data from iiMeia Research shows that in 2018, China’s online audio market had 425 million users. By 2020, that number is expected to increase to 542 million. Analysts believe that the market is expected to maintain a rapid growth through online audio content and user scenarios.
