A new IKEA store, located in the M·LIVE shopping mall in Tianhe district, opened on August 28. The store is near the Sanxi station of the Guangzhou Metro Line 5, making it convenient to reach by public transportation.

IKEA is a Swedish furniture giant with chains stores around the globe and is a popular choice for purchasing household products. Compared with the city's old IKEA store near the Guangzhou East Railway, which closed on August 24, the new store boasts larger space and more comprehensive services, including over 700 parking spots.

Besides selling household furniture, IKEA also offers dining services. Its Cafe & Bar in the new store, the first IKEA cafe in Guangzhou, has opened to the public and offers customers a chance to savor Swedish-style desserts. People also can have a break and enjoy a buffet at the IKEA Bistro in the store.

A new green house in the store enables customers to check out and purchase household plants.

The store's newly built walls are distinctive and photogenic enough for making good photos. A children's playground may relieve parents from having to constantly tend to their kids, affording them more time to compare and pick out the products they want.

Throughout September, the new IKEA will offer discounts to lure customers. Discount coupons got from purchases can be used in the new IKEA store and one in Panyu district, as well as the outlet in Nanhai district in Foshan.
