The second plenary session of the 13th Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress will be held from January 28th to January 31st, lasting for 4 days.
Representatives to attend the 2019 Guangdong Legislative Session arrive in Guangzhou.
According to Huang Juequn, the spokesman of the 2019 Guangdong Legislative Session and the inspector of the standing committee of Guangdong's Provincial People’s Congress, the panel will summarize Guangdong’s achievements in the spheres of politics, economics, culture, society and ecology over 2018, and set out the mission and work statements for the province over the coming year.
It’s worth mention that the session will start a “representatives’ channel” for the first time this year, which will give the media more chances to interview the representatives. By the end of January 22nd, 109 media from home and abroad have registered for attendance, including 90 domestic media and 19 media from Hong Kong, Macao and overseas countries.
In addition, Guangdong’s top political advisory body, Guangdong Provincial Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) started its annual session in Guangzhou yesterday on January 26th and will last until January 29th.
The Guangdong consultative session invited 773 representatives from different sectors to give proposals on Guangdong’s future development. On the first day of meeting, they have already shed lights into a wide range of topics, such as the offshore wind power project, AI development and supporting enterprises going global.
Officials from a number of the foreign consulates in Guangzhou also attended the meeting.
