One of the largest migration in China, the Spring Festival travel rush (also known as Chunyun) will last from January 21 to March 1 this year. Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport will have an estimated 54,600 flights depart and arrive, serving 8.3 million passengers during the travel rush.

The expected peak of passenger flow are from January 28 to February 3 and from February 9 to 19. Passengers who want to travel by plane during this period are recommended to buy tickets in advance.

Baiyun Airport has also announced to take a number of measures to ensure more efficient services.

During the travel peak, all check-in counters and security passages in T1, T2 will be opened to passengers, and security passages for international flights will be opened 24 hours. Besides, special passages will be opened to those passengers who are aged, ill, disabled, pregnant or late for their flights.

In addition, the airport will conduct road traffic control to ensure public security and keep good road conditions near the airport during the travel rush.

Taking Metro is one of the best choices to get to Baiyun Airport.

Guangzhou Metro Line 3 North Extension, or Airport Line, travels between Tiyu Xi Road in Tianhe District and the airport. Passengers can arrive T1at Airport South Station and T2 at Airport North Station.
