'New Generation of Animation' Animation Art Exhibition coming to Guangzhou

"New Generation of Animation: Guangzhou’s Animation Art across 40 years" will be held on November 28th at Guangzhou Museum of Art.

In commemoration of 40 years of Economic Reform and Opening Up, Publicity Department of Guangzhou and Guangzhou Association of Literary and Art will jointly hold the animation art exhibition named: "New Generation of Animation: Guangzhou’s Animation Art across 40 years" on November 28th at Guangzhou Museum of Art. Visitors can enjoy the exhibition for free, the exhibition will last until January 6th.

The development of Guangzhou’s animation art is a hallmark of the cultural development experienced during the Reform and Opening Up. Over the past 40 years, Guangzhou has always been at the forefront. The exhibition systematically, professionally and historically integrates the history of animation art in Guangzhou, serving as a Guangzhou anime ‘encyclopedia‘ of sorts.

Furthermore, this is the first exhibition to include animation art from Hong Kong and Macao. Xi Jinping emphasized during his tour to Guangdong in October that: “The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is a big opportunity for Guangdong's reform and opening up.”

Visitors can learn the stories behind The Song of Smurfs written by composer Zheng Qiufeng, the original copy of Self-Mockery from Liao Bingxiong, and Xiao Lin Comics from Lin Dihuan which are famous for his humorous style.
