An interview with Consul General of Ecuador in Guangzhou
The Olympic Games were held for the first time in Latin America this past August, and offered the world a glimpse into the exotic beauty of this amazing region. It is with the Rio Olympics, and Latin America, in the forefront of thought that China (Guangdong) International Tourism Industry Expo (CITIE) will open its doors on September 9.
Before the fair opens, the Consul General of Ecuador in Guangzhou, Mariella Molina, shared with NewsGD about the tourism exchange between Guangdong and Ecuador. Ms. Molina has lived in Guangdong for about 10 years and knows the region very well.

Q: I know that you have been living in Guangdong for many years. Can you talk a bit about Guangdong, especially the tourism？
A: The top thing Ecuadorians like to see is the temples. In Guangdong, a lot of Ecuadorians love to visit the Guangxiao Temple. I also suggest they visit the temple in Shaoguan. Nanhua Temple is a very large temple.
Q: How do you think Guangdong’s attraction to Ecuadorian visitors?
Guangdong has nice places worth Ecuadorians to visit, such as temples, beaches and Canton Tower. I think the other thing what Ecuadorians like to do is cruising on the river.
Q: The organizer of CITIE mentioned that Latin America would be highlighted this year. It is the most important part of the Expo. Could you please introduce how your country will promote the tourism routes and products in the Expo?
A：We will keep promoting Ecuador as an ecological tourist destination. Our country’s slogan is "Ecuador love life".
This year, during the Expo, we will bring some Ecuadorian costume, so Chinese visitors will know more about our places. They will see these costume when they visit Ecuador.
