On February 14, Wechat account of Fei Arts received a message from the Israeli Consulate General in Guangzhou that they thought the previous exhibition was meaningful and wanted to send some gifts to the participating artists. After considering the epidemic’s severity, the Consulate finally decided to give some of the remaining face masks in their inventory as gifts to the shortlisted artists.

To ensure normal functioning of the city during the epidemic, vendors in the wet markets keep working on the front line as usual, though business was sluggish. FEI Arts learned that, due to lack of supply in early February, many stall owners had to make their own masks and some cannot even run their stalls.

How can the masks be given to the people who need them most? Thus Fei Arts began to think about how to convert limited resources to make some tangible changes for society. Therefore, Fei Arts has planned a special feature of "Home is Museum"-Market is Museum. In cooperation with the Consulate General of Israel-Guangzhou, we invite everyone to enter the fresh market to discover and record the daily life of ordinary people during the epidemic.

Preface to the exhibition

As an unprivileged group in urban development, the stall owners in the fresh market are often defined by the public as humble.

However, being humble does not mean that they lack strength. On the contrary, the humble birth of the wisdom of survival as well as of soft human nature--they use their hands to struggle silently in the city, day after day, year after year.

he seemingly "wisdom" of these works, so to understand the causes of "wisdom", and to see the individual encounters and tenacity covered by it.

This exhibition is dedicated to all the people who are trying their best to live in the city.
