The Consulate General of the Republic of Ecuador in Guangzhou held a reception to celebrate the 210th anniversary of Ecuador’s independence at the White Swan Hotel on August 8.

Zhang Guangjun, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, and Alvaro Garcia Gutierrez, the Consul General of the Republic of Ecuador in Guangzhou, and other officials from Guangdong as well as other countries and regions, attended the reception.

Zhang said that Guangdong has advanced its partnership with Ecuador in various fields, including trade, agriculture, culture and tourism, and people-to-people exchanges, and the province is willing to join hands with Ecuador to deepen practical cooperation and share development opportunities.

Alvaro Garcia Gutierrez said that Ecuador has expressed great interest in the development of the Greater Bay Area that will boost cooperation opportunities for both sides.
