‘Blossom of Spring——An Exhibition of Liu Shaobai’s Works’ is going to be held at Kui Yuan Gallery in Guangzhou between January 26th and February 17th, with a Kunqu Opera performance highlighting the opening ceremony this Saturday.

"Full of Harmony" Water and color on paper 65×39cm 2018
Liu is especially famous for his paintings of landscapes and flowers, his works featuring dramatic and simple strokes, and incisive and vivid use of ink. His paintings have a classic elegance and timeless quietness, and will surely move the audience.
Liu first received guidance on his painting and calligraphy from Mr. Liang Yongzhuo and Mr. Qi Liangchi, the fourth son of Qi Baishi, noted Chinese painter. He studied at the China Academy of Art and Chinese National Academy of Arts, and is currently a student of Mr. Cui Zhiqiang, a famous artist in the field of calligraphy and seal carving and Mr. Wu Yueshi, well-known painter.
Liu Shaobai’s works have been nominated for and won numerous awards in national exhibitions sponsored by the China Calligraphy Association, the China Artists Association and the Xi Ling Press Society.
In 2008, his seal carving work was carried on the Shenzhou VII spaceship in the Art Space Tour, and was collected by the state.
