Over the 70 years since the People's Republic of China was established, people of different ages from all around the world have settled down in China. Guangdong, the frontier of China's reform and opening-up, has been leading the country in terms of attracting foreign talent, due in a large part to the Belt and Road Initiative, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and Shenzhen’s new role as a pilot demonstration area. 2019 also marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Sino-Russian diplomatic relations. Nikita from Russia is fascinated by Shenzhen, a young and dynamic city in China. He believes young people should all come to Shenzhen whether just visiting or starting up their own businesses. He currently attends the Shenzhen MSU-BIT University.

The future depends on how the youngsters study, behave, how they treat each other and what their dreams are. The youth is the most important thing for a country.”

An 1-million-fans Internet celebrity

Rachel from the US speaks fluent Mandarin and Cantonese. Born in Hong Kong, she came to Dongguan 20 years ago because her family all loves go-karting and found that Dongguan has the biggest karting industry in all of Asia. She received 12 years education in local Chinese schools in Dongguan. Now she is engaged in online streaming video in Shenzhen, an emerging industry in China, and has about one million fans on Bilibili and Weibo.

In 2006, Cooking Nanta, a South Korean nonverbal culinary themed comedy performance made an appearance on New York’s Broadway, being the first Asian production to do so. This May, the show was performed during the Asian Cuisine Festival in Guangzhou, attracting numerous curious eyes. The producer of the show is Sean Choi, CEO of the Chirea Culture Company.

Forty years ago, Stephan Mohler was a stage technician in Theater Basel, where he first saw a piano being tuned. His curiosity aroused, he has been devoted to the art of piano making ever since. Now, nearly 70 years old, this man still dedicates his time to the craft. Under his supervision, the technical team of Pearl River Pianos has launched the “Kayserburg Artist” series, and a production line based on the high standards of European top-flight piano manufacturing.

Piano is a seven-tone and now is China’s seventy anniversary. But I tuned many times for modern music also, fourteen tone scales. And I tuned also twenty eight tone scales. So China can get very old. We have enough tones.”
