During this year's May Day holidays, the Tianhou Temple (Temple of the Queen of Heaven) and many other attractions in Nansha district were opened to the public without charge. The district received 330,000 tourists in the Golden Week, setting a new record in visitors to the district's history in recent years.
An official of the Nansha District Tourism Bureau has announced that all government-invested parks, whether completed, under construction or in the planning stage, would open to the public free of charge commencing May 1, 2007. For the next step, the Dajiaoshan gun emplacements are to finish construction and officially open free to the public before the National Day (October 1) Golden Week. In addition, the construction of the Dashana Park and the Huangshanlu Park will be accelerated; and the RMB 125 million invested Fuzhou Food and Beverage Town, where people can enjoy all kinds of Nansha Style food, will open before October 1.
