On the morning of March 26th, the 50th hotel of the Shangri-La Group, Guangzhou Shangri-La Hotel officially opened, and it put an end to the history of no new international luxury hotels in Guangzhou for more than 10 years.

After 2 months' trial business, situated in the Pazhou business district and adjacent to the Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Guangzhou Shangri-La Hotel was officially opened on March 26. The newly built hotel is equipped with extraordinary deluxe hotel accommodations. There are only 704 guestrooms in the 36-floor building, and the room sizes range from 42 square meters to 305 square meters of the largest suite, which has established the record of the most luxurious hotel in Guangzhou.

The Grand Ballroom in the hotel is the most magnificent ballroom of all the hotels in Guangzhou and all the other hotels under the Shangri-La Group. This Pearl River Grand Ballroom occupies an area of 2240 square meters with a height of 11 meters and can cater 3000 people at the same time. Also, there are no pillars in this magnificent ballroom.

The price for the guestrooms varies from RMB 1,000 to 10,000. After its official opening, the special price of RMB 888 for the trial business is replaced by the new price RMB 1098, which is now the lowest price. The highest price is of course for the presidential suite which is RMB 20,000 plus a 15% service fee.

Except the extreme high-level customer market, Shangri-La also focuses its eyes on the lower-level market with the rich citizens as mainstream customers. On the morning of March 26, the Market Supervisor of Guangzhou Shangri-La told reporters that Shangri-La would supply a full-package product with the theme of "One Day in Paradise" for the Guangzhou Citizens. "Though the final price hasn't been decided yet, it's affordable for the common citizens", he added.

Now Shangri-La has special offer during the opening period. It costs only RMB 2888 (including the service fee) for the guests to live there for 3 days and 2 nights. Furthermore, the guests can enjoy the deluxe room with spectacular views of the Pearl River and have free access to all the hotel's service facilities.
