The Guangzhou Municipal Government has announced that the Guangzhou series of events for the 2006 Guangdong International Tourism and Culture Festival & Pan-Pearl River Delta Tourism Promotion Convention will start on November 23.

The four events to be held in Guangzhou will include the 20th Guangzhou International Food Festival, festooned boats cruising on the Pearl River, a large-scale firework display, and the Zengcheng Mountain Climbing Festival.

The large-scale firework display over the Pearl River will be the highlight of the Tourism and Culture Festival. It will start at 9 pm on November 23 at Bai'etan and last about 25 minutes. A total of 250,000 fireworks, featuring the most fantastic ones the international fireworks industry has to offer, will be displayed with the state-of-the-art equipment.

The 20th Guangzhou (International) Food Festival will take place from November 23 to December 3. Admissions will be free for the public.

And the China Guangzhou (Zengcheng) Mountain Climbing Tourism Festival will be underway from November 25 to December 8.
