The First Cross-Strait Taipei Travel Fair will bring new energy into common interests in the cross-strait tourism industry, the secretary-general of the mainland delegation, Liu Kezhi, said at a news conference Thursday in Taipei.

Liu Kezhi said cross-strait contacts are increasing. The tourism industries on two sides have opened highly effective exchanges and cooperation, establishing good cooperative relations.

He added tourism communications and cooperation between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan are stepping into a new phase.

The four-day expo has attracted more than 500 people from the mainland tourism sector. This is a record for cross-strait tourism exchange activities.
