Shenzhen Airlines has introduced combination flight-ferry tickets for trips between inland cities and Hong Kong and Macao, the company announced yesterday.

The company also offers combination tickets for flights between inland cities and Taiwan with two stops at Shenzhen and Macao.

The flight-ferry combination ticket can cut the travel costs between mainland cities and Hong Kong or Macao by half, because airfare for direct flights between Hong Kong or Macao and mainland cities is much more expensive than that between Shenzhen and the inland cities.

The company operates 36 flight-ferry trips to and from Hong Kong and 28 to and from Macao daily.

The flights to Taiwan include three legs: from the inland city to Shenzhen, from Shenzhen to Macao, and then from Macao to Taipei or Kaohsiung. A total of 27 flights to Taipei and 27 flights to Kaohsiung are operated daily. The service is expected to bring convenience to travelers, because currently there are no direct flights between Taiwan and the mainland cities except during traditional festivals.

The combination tickets cover 13 mainland cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Wuxi, Nanning, Hangzhou, Zhengzhou, Guiyang, Chongqing, Shenyang, Chengdu, Wuhan, Xi'an and Kunming.

Hong Kong's Shun Tak-China Travel and Macao Airlines are partners for the services.
