THE World Tourism Organization has enlisted action film star Jackie Chan to promote Asia-Pacific tourism as a means of reducing poverty.
Chan, whom the organization has named an Asia- Pacific tourism ambassador, appeared with organization officials in Macao on Tuesday (June 13).
"I will do my best to promote tourism in a healthy and sustainable way and to help people who are less fortunate through tourism," Chan said.
Chan said he has always sought to put visitor landmarks in his films, but now he will try harder.
"Now when I slide down a building, I will make sure it becomes a tourist attraction," he joked.
