IT is estimated that around 4.3 million Guangzhou people will take domestic trips or outbound tours during the Spring Festival holidays, a recent survey says.
The survey, which was conducted by the city's tourism authority, interviewed 1,947 urban residents and 1,571 respondents, or 80.8 percent of all participants, said they would take trips in the province, to other provinces or overseas.
The household expenditure on travel is also expected to drop slightly to 1,972 yuan (US$220), compared to the figure last year, while trips to Hong Kong and Macao are expected to increase by 40 percent.
