The Indonesian government gave approval of visa-on-arrival facility to 13 countries in a bid to boost foreign tourist arrival into the country in Jakarta Tuesday .

"Thirteen countries, including China and India, have been agreed for getting visa-on-arrival facility," Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Culture Jero Wacik said.

The minister said the countries include China, Saudi Arabia, India, Kuwait, Belgium, Spain, Russia, Egypt, Austria, Ireland, Qatar, Greece and Luxembourg.

The government is considering to give the facility to Dutch and Sweden, he added.

The length of stay of visa-on-arrival have also been extended from three days to six days, while the uttermost permission of length of 30 days still remained.

The minister reaffirmed on the government expectation to attract more tourists from China.

"By using this visa-on-arrival facility, we hope more foreign tourists from China to come," he said.

With regard to the heightened travel advice from western countries to Indonesia, he said that such warning had not significantly affected the country's tourism industry.

The Indonesian government has targeted 6 million foreign tourists this year.
