Ms Eva Cheng, Commissioner of Tourism of Hong Kong, said that Hong Kong's Disneyland theme park, set to open on September 12, has already generated very favorable advance reservations for its hotel.
The theme park has 1,000 rooms, and it has so far received 10,000 reservations. There is especially strong demand for rooms on those weekends and holidays within the few months after the opening ceremony.
Cheng indicated on the Legislative Council Panel on Economic Affairs yesterday morning that the park would begin its test operation on August 16 and would give priority to some groups, including elders and families on welfare.
This will give the staff and related infrastructure, such as transport facilities to the park, enough time to become familiar with overall operations, ensuring the park's smooth opening. Editor: Catherine
