Renovation of the Shenzhen's arterial road, Shennan Thoroughfare, is expected to be completed by the middle of April, the Daily Sunshine reported recently.

So far, more than 85 percent of the renovation has been finished, the report said, citing officials with the project command center.

Only a small section west of Huafu Road remains to be renovated, Yang Peiye, head of the command center said. Progress slowed down somewhat due to the rainy weather for some days.

Yang said his team will maintain close contact with the local observatory and change their work schedule according to weather forecasts so as to finish the project on time.

Judging from the present rate of progress, the renovation will certainly be finished by the middle of April, Yang said.
