From 10 p.m. Monday, some roads will be closed near the venue of the city's 24th annual flower fair on Aiguo Road in Luohu District.

The flower fair will be held from 10 a.m. Feb. 4 through midnight Feb. 8 to usher in the Chinese New Year, which falls on Feb. 9.

A section of Aiguo Road, between Huali and Yijing roads, will be closed to traffic until 7 a.m. Feb. 9. A section of Fuzhong First Road, between Pengcheng First Road and Pengcheng Second Road, and a section of Mintian Road, between Hongli Road West and Fuzhong Road, will be closed from Monday to Feb. 8, to embrace Futian flower fair.

Buses using these roads will detour to other roads. Bus lanes on Aiguo Road and Dongmen Road North, will be used for public parking.

In Futian District, temporary parking lots will also be set up on the northern half of a section of Fuzhong Road, between Yitian Road and Xinzhou Road. Parking will be banned on Huali Road, Pengcheng First Road and Pengcheng Second Road.

The warm weather this winter has encouraged the growth of plants and flowers and more varieties totaling 5,000 species would be on offer, organizers said. Smaller booths were sold this year, attracting more small flower business operators.
