Imperial Hot Springs
Latest Updated by 2004-04-20 09:19:49

Guangdong has quite a few nice hot springs. Imperial Hot Springs is  one of them. Situated outside Zhuhai, it is about two-and-half-hour drive from downtown Shenzhen.

It's a modest, cozy resort with small, highly functional Japanese-style hotel rooms. You can wrap yourself in a Japanese-style robe and enjoy the spring water.

Here are some tips to enhance your hot springs experience. First, make sure you do not go into the warm pools on an empty stomach. Second do not loll in the warm water for too long, or you might feel dizzy. Moreover, keep drinking water to avoid dehydration.

There are wide variety of pools from which to choose, all featuring various herbal, fruit and dairy ingredients to ensure a healthy bathing experience. You can bathe in a milk pool to help keep your skin soft and smooth, and there are other theme pools such as papaya, apple, mint and even coffee.

After bathing, you may want an imperial-style foot massage. The well-trained massage therapists, utilizing reflexological techniques, will gently press your pressure points. It is believed that these pressure points are connected with other organs in the human body.

If you are in the mood, you can also enjoy a full-body spa massage, if you are in the mood. The resort offers mud-bathing services. Resort managers claim that the mud is imported from the Middle East, where the earth is believed to contain various beneficial minerals.

Most visitors to the Imperial Hot Spring speak highly of the service. There are about 800 professionally trained waiters and waitresses and the hotel managers say that they want every guest to feel like a king or queen.
