Guangdong government decided to allocate 20 million Yuan in AIDS prevention and treatment work this year, according to a government conference on Jan. 13.
The government pledges to set up more labs for HIV test in the province, especially in less-developed areas and in blood collecting centers.
Before June of this year, the county-level and higher levels of Centers for Diseases Control (CDC) are expected to complete construction on HIV test labs and begin to carry out free HIV test services.
The government also requires health departments at all levels to improve their medical teams' level of AIDS prevention and treatment.
By the end of this year, CDC's at all levels are required to establish independent departments for AIDS prevention and treatment.
