The 97th China Export Commodities Fair (Canton Fair) will kick off this Friday, and will run until the end of the month.

The main exhibit categories in the fair include textiles and garments, foodstuffs and medicines and industrial products from this Friday to next Wednesday, and will shift to gifts and consumer goods in the 2nd phase, from Apr 25 - 30.

The 97th Canton Fair is held in 2 complexes, Liuhua and Pazhou, with 28010 booths in total, beating the record-breaking 96th session by 250 booths.

Business deals struck at every China Guangzhou export commodities fair, dubbed "the weather vane of China's exports", account for one third of the country's total volume of exports via general trade each year.
