During the May Day holiday, more than 20,000 teenagers and volunteer workers went to the streets to deliver booklets in SARS prevention and to appeal to people to stop spitting.
According to the municipal government's new regulation, from May 10th on, people who spit will be fined with 50 yuan and those who litter will be fined 200 yuan.
