The press conference on Pan-PRD Regional Cooperation and Development Forum held in Guangzhou today (May 25th)

Pan-Pearl River Delta (PPRD) Regional Cooperation and Development Forum is to kick off on June 1st, releases the forum's press conference today (May 25th). On the forum a regional cooperation frame agreement will be signed, marking the start-off of further cooperation within the region.
The 1st session of the forum is made up of three parts: June 1st, opening ceremony in Hong Kong; June 2nd, conference in Macao; and June 3rd, closing ceremony and agreement signing in Guangzhou, says Xu Shangwu, Secretary-general of the organization committee of the forum and vice secretary-general of Guangdong provincial government.
In his brief, Xu also explain the great significance of the establishment of PPRD, which consists of 9 provinces/regions, say Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, together with Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) and Macao Special Administrative Region, and the launching of the forum.
PPRD cooperation will promote the implementation of CEPA, and speedup cooperation of China-ASEAN free trade zone for Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR’s prosperity and stability.
Guangdong is the initiator of the forum, and the other members will hold the forum in turn, says Chen Shanru, Deputy Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee of PPRD Regional Cooperation and Development Forum and Director of Guangdong Development and Reform Commission.
The framework agreement signed on June 3 will include the Government section establishment of the 11 members, says Chen.
