Ouyang Nongyue, President of SouthCN.com (Chinese Version) and Newsgd.com (English Version), received interview of the reporter from CCTV.com during his participation in the 2003 Forum on Network Media of China in Beijing on October 10th.

During the interview, Mr. Ouyang expressed that as the mainstream of Guangdong's network media industry, Southcn.com (Chinese Version) and Newsgd.com (English Version) should take the responsibility of serving the society.

"The number of netters in Guangdong accounts for 20 percent of the nation, Guangdong people get more and more used to searching information frequently on internet. Guangdong network media has big markets. Southcn.com tries its best to provide netters up-to-date news and authorized information.

"Moreover, Guangdong is the hometown of 300 million overseas Chinese, so it is of great significance for Southcn.com to display the construction achievement of the nation and itself to these Chinese abroad, and through them, to the whole world."

"Lastly, as Guangdong has frequent communications with western countries, Newsgd.com is born bearing the responsibility to introduce the information of Guangdong, South China and the whole country to the western counterparts."

"SouthCN.com has been commonly acknowledged," he said, "and therefore, has relatively great influence in the society."

Mr. Ouyang Nongyue made a speech named "How network media present China to the world - On Practice and Probe of Southcn.com" at the forum, discussing on the social responsibility of China's network media.
