Knowing the final result through live broadcasting of the 23th Olympic Council of Asia General Assembly from Doha, capital of Qatar this evening (July 1st), Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong Province, is permeated with an atmosphere of raptures. The exciting announcement is made at about 8:30 p.m.


A large-scale party, named "Heart of China, Love for Asiad" and featuring new, surprising and characteristics, is held in the Pazhou Convention and Exhibition Center of the city to celebrate the victory.


For the first time, a "removable studio" is set above the Pearl River to broadcast lively the 50-minute pomp, conveying the happiness and passion of Guangdong people to the whole country.


People of the city and all over country can also enjoy a firework display lasting some 20 minutes held on the Pearl River after the party.


Yuan Weiming, president of the State Sport General Administration of China, Guangdong governor Huang Huahua and Guangzhou mayor Zhang Guangning lead a delegation to Doha for the final evaluation on June 29th. The three officials give speeches to the members of Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), to show the confidence and determination of Guangzhou for Asiad, to which OCA officials showed great satisfactory.


Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong Province, after its successful bidding, is to spark the world with its beautiful environment and dynamic development in the coming 2010 Asian Games.


Guangzhou will spend about 220 billion yuan to improve infrastructure, build Olympic village and a new railway station, as well as to complete the second phase of the new Baiyun international Airport construction, says Mr. Zhang before their departure for Doha.


Moreover, a post card on Guangzhou's success in 2010 Asiad bid will be issued by the State Post Bureau to memorize the moment.
